Community Collaborations
|In Saskatchewan, you don’t have to look very far to find interesting people doing amazing things.
At Pine View Farms, we believe that we build community when we break bread together. That is, food does way more than just provide fuel to get us to the next event. Food unites us. Familiarity builds friendship and understanding--- and sharing a meal at the dinner table is one of best, most delicious ways to go about it.
Admittedly, none of us are throwing big in-person dinner parties these days, but we have had many, many family meals with our tiny bubbles or have shared a holiday celebration over Zoom in the last year. Or maybe you’ve delivered food to the doorstep of a loved one or someone in need. No matter what, food still has the power to bring us together.
For that reason, we are collaborating with other folks in our local community to share their varied experiences with Pine View Farms’ meats and how they incorporate healthy eating and a “love local” attitude in everyday life.
Meet our Community Collaborators who bring three different perspectives to meat, eating and community connection.
Jackie Osczesvski
You may have noticed a new friend of ours posting delicious meal prep photos and giving you tips and tricks on how to eat well, build strength and gain muscle. This lovely human is Jackie Osczevski, who calls Martensville home.
A local professional strong woman and trainer serving the Saskatoon area, Jackie has a degree in Kinesiology from the U of S. In competition, she's there to win and in 2020, she brought home 1st place in Nationals from Quebec city!
We've partnered with Jackie to help you learn about our meat from an athlete's perspective and we can't wait to see what this boss babe gets done in 2021!
You’ll see more from Jackie on our Instagram feed over the coming months and you can follow her at @jacked_jackie.
Eric Gryba
Eric is a retired NHL player, dedicated father, husband, hunter and wild game chef who has a cooking show on Wild TV. The quest for the best bacon brought him to Pine View Farms.
Eric believes in supporting local businesses and wanted to learn about nose-to-tail butchery. So we partnered on a pig.
Eric will be sharing videos, photos and tips on cutting meat, processing bacon and sausage and even figuring out what to do with the pig’s head! Follow our Instagram feed and find Eric @grybes02.
Courtney Anderson
We’ve been working with Courtney for over a year as our Recipe Curator for our Meat Box Subscription program.
Courtney brings a wealth of experience as a mother and postpartum coach. A well-balanced life is important to Courtney and that includes creating meals that are simply delicious and loaded with nutrition --- “making magic in everyday moments” as Courtney would say.
You’ll find her recipes on our website and if you’re a meat box subscriber, you’ll receive new recipes monthly to inspire your kitchen and make meal planning just a bit easier.
Courtney has shared on our blog and you’ll find her recipes in our stories and posts as well as @raised.on.rainbows.
9 Mile Legacy Brewing
Is it too early for patio season in Saskatchewan? Of course not.
We figure that BEER + BBQ is a simple math equation that no one has to think too hard about.
You can now order your Nano Butcher Box for pick up at 9 Mile Legacy Brewing in Saskatoon. Filled with Pine View Farms’ best selling barbecue-ready meats, the good people at 9 Mile have beers paired and conveniently ready for you.
We're hoping that these stories inspire you to eat better, live better and love local.
As always, we welcome your suggestions and feedback via email, social media --- or come visit us at the farm! You are always welcome here.
